 In 1940 in Belgium, the glamorous and vibrant style of the luxury watch brand Michele was launched.  Michele Watch Company believed in the philosophy that a watch is not merely a timepiece, but an expression of life.  The company began with the exquisite thinking of the watchmaker Maurice Barouh in Belgium.  His strong belief in quality and refinement set the company up to be the internationally acclaimed company that it is today. In 2000, the Michele Collection was launched in the United States in Miami, Florida.  Fossil bought Michele Watches in 2004, but the Barouh family continues to run the company.
